1. Big Pun Funeral
For Big Pun’s funeral, Wyclef showed up with a guitar and speaker and played music to pay tribute to the legendary Rican rapper. Though in Latino culture that’s seemed as disrespectful, the crowd knew his intentions were pure and showed him love.
2. Young Thug Comparison To 2Pac
When Wyclef compared Young Thug to Tupac he was referring to their work ethic and the way they self-educated themselves on subjects that aren’t taught in school.
3. Fugees vs. Wu-Tang?
At a show the Fugees were a part of in the 90’s, Wyclef said Wu-Tang Clan got into a fight with some Isrealites and the Fugees somehow got caught in the middle.
4. Lauryn Hill
Wyclef rates Lauryn Hill as a top 5 female artist of our generation.
5. City High Backlash
He felt that City High didn’t get their full props because fans might’ve felt that Wyclef was trying to make a carbon copy of The Fugees.
6. City High Fell Off Because…
Though City High was successful for a second he feels that each member being pulled in a different direction led to the group’s downfall.
7. Fat Joe’s Beat
The “Fugee-La” beat was originally made for Fat Joe. Fat Joe was a tad bit salty about the beat being given to the Fugees.
8. The Carnival
When he was crafting The Carnival he wanted to create a “body of work that lives as a piece of art.”
9. Golden Globe
He got nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song in Hotel Rawanda.
10. Politics As Usual
His political aspirations were due to his feeling that there was absence in his country.
