People have really shown their true colors since the first Black president was elected back in 2008. Not only does President Obama have to constantly put up with disrespect, but he has to watch his family go through it too. People criticize them for every single thing, from the way they dress to the events they decide to attend.

The sad thing is that it’s not only racist internet thugs that go in on the Obamas, but people with legit careers and positions in society.

Just this month Univision host, Rodner Figueroa, was fired for saying Michelle Obama looks like she’s from the cast of Planet of the Apes. The bad news is Raven Symone defended his comments. The good news is, bruh got fired.

The monkey jokes aren’t really new though. A few years back, a member of the California Republican party, Marilyn Davenport, sent out this email with Barack’s face on a chimpanzee. She also wrote, “Now you know why- no birth certificate!”. Just foul.

NFL player Darnell Dockett got the major side eye after he reposted a picture of 16-year-old Malia Obama that showed off more of her body than her face. The pic also had a caption attached to it that said “When is her prom?”. After Dockett got called out enough about it, he went on a mini twitter rant.

Clearly Obama’s kids don’t get left out of the disrespect either. Last year congressional staffer, Elizabeth Lauten, was caught going in on the girls using Facebook.
“Dear Sasha and Malia, I get you’re both in those awful teen years, but you’re a part of the First Family, try showing a little class. At least respect the part you play. Then again your mother and father don’t respect their positions very much, or the nation for that matter, so I’m guessing you’re coming up a little short in the ‘good role model’ department. Nevertheless, stretch yourself. Rise to the occasion. Act like being in the White House matters to you. Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar. And certainly don’t make faces during televised public events.”
Luckily she was forced to resign after that.

One Fox News contributor, Keith Ablow, came at the FLOTUS about her health campaign. “She needs to drop a few. I mean I’m telling you, let’s be honest. Who are we taking nutrition advice from? Let’s be honest, there are no french fries happening? That’s all kale and carrots? I don’t buy it.”

He wasn’t the only one to comment on the First Lady’s body. One congressman, Jim Sensenbrenner, was overheard on the phone saying, “She lectures us on eating right while she has a large posterior herself.” The shade.

And more monkey jokes. After a gorilla escaped from the zoo, GOP activist, Rusty Depass, said “I’m sure it’s just one of Michelle’s ancestors – probably harmless.”

It’s not just white people that come for the first family. Remember when Jesse Jackson was caught saying, “See, Barack been, um, talking down to Black people on this faith based … I want to cut his nuts off.”
Rudy Giuliani once said in a speech, “I do not believe, and I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the president loves America. He doesn’t love you. And he doesn’t love me. He wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up through love of this country.”

Oh and lets not forget Donald Trump‘s campaign to get Obama to show his birth certificate. Trump offered up $5 million to see proof, and didn’t shut up until the White House released it. The disrespect stays reaching new levels.
