The Republican National Committee’s Facebook page raised eyebrows after a racist picture appeared on the group’s fan page. A “fan” of the committee posted a picture of President Obama eating a piece of fried chicken with a caption that reads:
“Miscegenation is a crime against American values. Repeal Loving v. Virginia.”
Miscegenation or the mixing of different racial groups was deemed unconstitutional in 1967 during the Loving V. Virginia court case. The court’s ruling ended all race based legal restrictions on marriage.
The picture has since been removed from the site.
This has not been the president’s first wave of Facebook bashing.
As previously reported a poll was posted on the site in September asking if the President should be killed. Users had the option to select yes, no, or maybe so.
That poll has been removed as well while the Secret Service investigates.
