After dropping back-to-back bombs with Batman V. Superman and Justice League, DC shocked many with the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot’s character was literally the best part of both aforementioned films).
To many, if not everyone, Wonder Woman’s appearance in the lackluster Batman V. Superman was the best part of the movie and many of those same people felt that Patty Jenkins’ standalone Wonder Woman film was the best film to come out of the DCEU.
Seems like next year’s highly anticipated superheroine films will both be sporting retro themes. A few months after getting confirmation that Marvel’s Captain Marvel will be set in the 1990’s, word is spreading that DC’s sequel to Wonder Woman will be taking place in 1984.
Who doesn’t love a good comic book debate? Especially ones that put superheroes that are on equal footing up against each other in what if situations.

Don Cheadle took time out of his busy Hollywood schedule to give a few choice words to men complaining on Twitter about women-only screenings of Wonder Woman. The veteran actor sliced and diced the “menininist” collective on the social media network whining that the screenings were discriminatory to their brood.
