It's been two years since the death of George Floyd due to police brutality by now-incarcerated Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin, but it appears that the crisis of Black people dying due to shootings by law enforcement hasn't slowed down at all.

Former Minneapolis police officers Tou Thao, J. Alexander Kueng, and Thomas Lane were guilty of violating George Floyd's rights when they failed to intervene as Chauvin pressed his knee into Floyd's neck while he was on the ground for over three minutes on May 25th, 2020. The jury also found that Thao and Kueng were guilty of ignoring Floyd's medical needs on the scene.

Convicted murderer Derek Chauvin saved himself another trial and possibly more years to his prison sentence by pleading guilty to two federal charges related to violating George Floyd’s civil rights.
