10 Must See Hip-Hop Tours & Acts This Summer
Anyone that knows anything about the music business should know artists make next to nothing from album sales, and that was back when people were actually buying albums.
Because of this, the most important revenue stream for an artist comes from touring.
Concerts and live shows are an important and authentic tool for artists to connect with their fans and grow their fanbase.
On the flipside, there is nothing a true fan loves more than seeing their favorite artists perform live.
So, to help true fans this summer, we’ve compiled a list of must see tours and acts to add to your calenders this summer.
Hit the next page to continue reading.
Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Lloyd, Keri Hilson
(I Am Still Music Tour)
Weezy and Rozay’s tour already hit 25 plus cities, and added 40 more dates through mid-September.
Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Chevy Woods
(Rolling Papers World Tour)
Young Khalifa’s tour dates extend from now until mid-November. Now, Taylor Gang that.
Kanye West, Pusha T, Cyhi Da Prynce and G.O.O.D. Music
As part of Heineken’s Red Star Access summer concert series, Kanye and Co.’s tour started on June 9th in New York and will run through nine cities, including Miami, Chicago, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Houston and Detroit.
KiD CuDi
We’re not sure, but KiD CuDi may be on his own tour this summer, aside from G.O.O.D. Music. Whether it’s with the rest of G.O.O.D. Music or Mr. Solo Dolo, KiD Cudder is a must see this summer.
Rihanna, J. Cole, Cee-Lo and B.o.B.
(LOUD Tour)
B.o.B., J. Cole and Cee-Lo Green are on tour dates with Rihanna, from now until she wants these rappers hanging around her dates.
Tyler, The Creator and Odd Future
Tyler and his OFWGKTA crew have a lot of dates overseas, but when they come to your city in the states, you won’t want to miss it. Just watch out for when they stage dive into the crowd.
Curren$y, Smoke DZA, Nesby Phips, Young Roddy, Trademark Da Skydiver and every other rapper from New Orleans
(Jet Life Tour)
The Curren$y and the Jets have been touring since April. The tour ends in late June, but we’re sure Spitta will be back on the road before the summer ends.
Mac Miller
(Incredibly Dope Tour)
Mac Miller just ended his official Incredibly Dope tour, but just like his Rostrum Records labelmate, Wiz Khalifa, Miller will be back on the road before you know it. Catch him before it’s time for K.I.D.S. to head back to school.
Kendrick Lamar
This Compton representer is another artist that’s not on an official tour, but he has been headlining dates in smaller intimate venues around the country. As one of the best up-and-coming rappers in the game, Kendrick Lamar’s show is something you have to see before the summer ends.
The Roots
The Legendary Roots crew is a group that constantly tours, and if you’re a die hard Hip-Hop fan, you must see a Roots concert…if not this summer, before your last days. Put this on your bucket list.
