Tekashi 6ix9ine has a lot of explaining to do. After avoiding decades behind bars for his participation in gang-related activities, the Hip-Hop troll has once again been unleashed on the masses and while the label of a “snitch” would be a career (and literal) death sentence in Hip-Hop’s prior years, the rainbow haired rapper is flourishing like never before in this current era.

With many questions surrounding him since he was granted an early release a few months ago, The New York Times has just published Tekashi’s first post-prison interview. From the looks and sounds of things, he hasn’t changed a single bit.

Continuing to bask in the attention he gets by mocking rival rappers, hoods, and haters, Hip-Hop’s “Henry Hill” has no regrets about joining the Nine Trey Bloods, no remorse about dropping dime on them, and certainly no other recourse as he’s dedicated to living out the title of the most hated person in Hip-Hop history.

Here are the 8 things we learned from Tekashi 6ix9ine in The New York Times.

Tekashi justifies his breaking the code of the streets of not snitching by pointing out that his “homies” broke the code first. “Yes. I was following a street code that was upheld by me and that I thought was real. Before I broke the street code, how many times was it broken to me? ‘It’s all about honor, loyalty.’ Well, let’s talk about if sleeping with somebody’s girl is honor, kidnapping somebody is honor, stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from them is honor, trying to kill them is honor. ‘Snitching’s not street!’ But street is taking advantage of one of your homies?”

With that being said, Tekashi doesn’t regret joining the Nine Trey saying that he “knew what I was” getting into. He wanted the street cred, but never thought they’d end up betraying him.

Though he admits that he was involved in the “use of a child in a sexual performance,” he says that he didn’t know she was 13-years-old at the time (he was 18) he says the other men involved brought her to the place and he was just “at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Comparing himself to Tupac Shakur due to the similarity in sexual misconduct charges, Tekashi says he’s no different than one of the greatest rappers to ever hold the mic (2020 type thinking). Well, he does idiotically recognize one distinction. “What’s the difference between me and Tupac Shakur? I never caught a rape charge — ever.” Really, b? Just that, huh?

When asked why he doesn’t just go into hiding and leave the limelight that could very well cost him his life, Tekashi says he’s “in love with the life” and that it’s his “goal is to feed me and mind.” That being said, 6ix recognizes the dangers of the real world without security as he says he worries about his safety “A lot” without hired help and reveals he’ll have anywhere from 8 to 22 bodyguards around him on any given day.

After admitting that Tekashi wasn’t worried about testifying as he “wanted to testify” against his former homies and everyone affiliated with him, he also confesses that he’s worried about dying, he’s not afraid of death as the streets aren’t all it’s cracked up to be. “The streets is a myth. Right now, if I left this interview and took the train by myself to Bed-Stuy, I wouldn’t come back. If you took a trip to an island full of cannibals, are you coming back? But you don’t put yourself in stupid situations.” What does that even mean?! 2020 thinking, b.

Once again admitted to putting hands on his baby mama, Sara Molina, Tekashi does say it’s not ok to hit women and that he’s since apologized to Molina for his actions.

Asked about the recent Black Lives Matter protests that’s been taking place across the US, Tekashi feels he’s “got no say” as he’s just an entertainer and not an activist, but does add “People do that for the cameras.” It should be worth noting that Tekashi has publicly supported Trump since before he started snitching, and it seems that hasn’t changed as he said “I would vote for Trump.” That actually sounds about right.
