Fresh off a memorable performance hosting the BET Awards and another dope season of Insecure, Amanda Seales continues to prove that not enough people appreciate what the woman brings to the culture.
Today (July 21) the multi-hyphenated actress and entrepreneur had a video interview with The Breakfast Club in which she got into how she completed her segments for the BET Awards, why she had a nervous breakdown this past March, and who she’s letting in and around her circle. Getting emotional at one point during the sit down, Amanda Seales shows that not only is it helpful to feel passionate about your work and environment, but also it’s a quality that not enough people have these days in the industry.
Here are the 6 things we learned from Amanda Seales on The Breakfast Club.
Originally the BET Awards was supposed to be done on set, but once someone on her team tested positive for COVID-19, Amanda had to do the show from the comfort of her own home. God works in mysterious ways, b. Luckily for her she shot the show in 10 hours. That’s professionalism for y’all, people.

Like many people around the world, quarantine life has helped Amanda do some soul searching about who she is and helped her realize she doesn’t want to be “hard” anymore. “You reach a point where you’re just really craving softness… In this quarantine I’ve just had a lot of epiphanies of just knowing I had to become a certain person by circumstance and I think a lot of us come to realize that our personality isn’t often time based on our core and our values, it’s based on what we’ve had to build up on protections to the situations that we’ve been in and the people that we’ve been in. I just don’t want to be that person anymore.”
Though Amanda’s enjoying much success out in Tinsel Town, she tearfully revealed that she had a nervous breakdown this past March due to Hollywood’s culture. Explaining how life out there effects her, Seales admitted, “I’m not built for Hollywood cause this is a town about opportunity and wealth and greed, and I’m not about that.” The negtivity was just too much for her and she ended up in a dark place where she let what others say about her get to her. Fortunately she was able to thug it out and get back to her happy Amanda place that she’s known and appreciated for.
Apparently Amanda hasn’t gotten any sexual healing in a minute but is hoping to find a man who can love her the way she wants to be loved. Gentlemen, start your DM engines…

Now that she’s in a better place, Amanda doesn’t want any negative people in her cipher sharing any negative energy with her. If you come around her you better be on the up and up. “I don’t want nobody around me anymore that isn’t coming with enthusiasm. Sorry…. And even if you going through it, check that at the door!” Ya heard?!
One of the things that Amanda realized during quarantine is that “I don’t need more wealth. I would be more than happy to simply just continue to work with my businesses and my companies and build those from the ground up in a nurtured and loving space. That would feed me financially but more importantly it would feed me intellectually and internally and that is more valuably for me right now.” Dropping gems lots of heads ain’t ready for but need right now.
