Lupe Fiasco Lands First No. 1 Album
Label disputes and release-date delays were major obstacles that Lupe Fiasco tore down as Lasers shot to the top of the Billboard charts this week taking the number one spot for the first time in his career.
Lupe’s third studio album sold 204,000 units, according to SoundScan in its first week pushing British soul songstress, Adele to number two.
Lupe’s fans are credited after he started the campaign to get Lasers in stores. The petition paid off.
Some of the other releases in the top ten came from the latest Glee cast recording which moved 90,000 copies and Marsha Ambrosius dropped Late Nights & Early Mornings which took the eighth position. Justin Bieber, Never Say Never – The Remixes was number nine and Raekwon’s Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang landed just outside the top ten at the twelfth spot.
