Business outside of the music industry has become a necessity to ensure that an artist can continue to bask in their success and continue to build up their dividends. Nelly has realized this fact and has tapped further into his Apple Bottom brand as he has launched a boutique area within the department store Dillard’s.

Last weekend, the St. Louis rapper was in attendance for a meet and greet at the store that was located inside the Galleria Mall in The Lou. There he signed autographs and other merchandise in order to further promote his female brand which was first started back in 2004.

Along with the clothing line, which is sold throughout many department stores throughout the country, the rapper will also be creating a fragrance for Apple Bottom which is set to be priced at $58.

Recently reports have been ringing that he and Ashanti are no longer one as they have decided to break up and go their separate paths. Rumors have swirled that Nelly’s infidelity was the direct cause for the rift and eventual demise of their relationship.

On the music side of things, Nelly, now reunited with his brother City Spud, has been set to join forces once again with his group, the St. Lunatics, to deliver a sequel to their 2001 debut album, Free City. Clearly showcasing a celebration for the return of City Spud, the album has been titled, City Free.

Outside of that group project, there has been word floating around that he will be teaming with Pharell, Akon and T-Pain to collaborate for material that should be released in 2010 and a venture with T.I. that which has been mentioned as being something to look out for in 2011.

In regards to his sixth album, there has been no real update on the date for the untitled album, but so far “1000 Stacks” has been a track released showing that the man behind Country Grammar is planning to gain his second wind and make that comeback after the lackluster sales of Brass Knuckles.
