Bernie Sanders on The Breakfast Club

Over the weekend Bernie Sanders made his Presidential aspirations official by kicking off his campaign with a rally in Brooklyn, New York and though many fear that he will split the Democratic vote in 2020 a la 2016, he may just be the man to take down Donald Trump.

Knowing he has to win over the Hip-Hop community, today the Vermont Senator sat down with The Breakfast Club to talk politics, racism, and of course, Donald Trump.

Talking to the morning trio, Bernie Sanders proves he has no hairs on his tongue when talking Trump, and delves into his plans for the Black community should he win the 2020 elections and explains how he intends to pay for Universal Healthcare and tuition free college for all.

Here are the 8 things we learned from Bernie Sanders on The Breakfast Club.

1. Donald Trump

Like everyone living in this OG reality plane, Bernie recognizes Trump as a ā€œpathological liar, a fraud, a racist, a sexist, a homophobeā€ and ā€œa xenophobeā€ but what really bothers him about Trump is how he goes out of his way to divide the entire country. He feels that’s the most disgusting thing he’s seen from an American President.

2. Promise Made

Bernie’s first campaign promise is to make sure his cabinet will include women and be much more racially diverse, just like America is.

3. Paying For A Better America

Bernie Sanders admits that he might raise taxes on everyone (especially billionaires) in order to help pay for his universal healthcare plan. As for the free college plan, he has a ā€œspeculation taxā€ on Wall Street idea to fund that move. Ideas like this are why Bernie is feared by big corporations.

4. Where’s The Taxes?

While people have been making a big deal about Bernie not releasing his tax returns, he’s promising to release his tax returns very soon. As long as he doesn’t come with an asinine excuse like being under audit is why he hasn’t released them then we’re confident he’ll be keeping his word.

5. Black Agenda

Should he be elected President, Bernie says he does have an agenda for the Black community in mind. Aside from fighting the criminal justice disparity in the Black community, he also wants to tackle ā€œracism and discrimination within the financial services industryā€ and focusing federal resources on the communities most in distress amongst other things. MAGA country gonna be tiiiiiiiight.

6. Reparations?

Bernie isn’t big on the idea of reparations as far as writing out checks to African-Americans goes. He’d rather do what he can to make life better for the Black community by tackling the issues that keep them oppressed.

7. Let Mary Jane Live

Like most of us, Sanders believes in the legalization of marijuana and feels that small businesses in the Black community should reap the benefits of such a move. And yes, Bernie blazed a few times but mostly remembers the coughing it caused. Musta been some good sh*t.

8. Goal Orientated

Deciding to run again for President was the most difficult decision Bernie says he made. But feeling like he’s the strongest candidate to beat Donald Trump motivated him to get back on the running for President. That being said he hopes that Democrats won’t get into a mudslinging contest with each other when the campaign trail heats up down the road.
