Thanks to his drama with Eminem, Machine Gun Kelly’s been making headlines for the past few weeks with fans split over who had the better diss record. While people are saying that MGK simply took a shot at Em to help his “struggle” career, MGK had a legit bone to pick with the “Kill Shot” rapper.
Today (Sept. 20), the Cleveland artist who’s sold over 20 million records (for real?!) and appeared in 10 movies (word?!?) swung through The Breakfast Club to talk about the entire situation and where it stands. Chopping it up with the morning trio, MGK gets into how old his beef with Eminem actually is, his drama with G-Eazy, and why he won’t stop his drug use.
Here are the 8 things we learned from Machine Gun Kelly on The Breakfast Club.

1. Late Registration
Machine Gun Kelly said Eminem should’ve responded to him saying his daughter was hot “six years ago.” He says he didn’t know how old Hailey was at the time but that he spoke with Paul Rosenberg behind the scenes afterwards and thought whatever friction would’ve been there was squashed. Em obviously felt another ways.

2. Choosing Sides & Lies
Even though he thought it was behind him, MGK says that he suddenly found himself banned from Shade 45 and being that they were both under Interscope, he says the people working at the label were choosing sides and wouldn’t help him push his music career like they were assigned to. It certainly didn’t help that he was beefing with Shady artist Yelawolf at the time. And apparently, Eminem did make a call to Puff about the situation at the time which led to a conference call between MGK, Puff, Jimmy Iovine and other execs at 9am. Speaking of which he says Puff called him up after “Rap Devil” dropped but he ignored the call because he wanted to remain “clear minded” while in a battle with Em.

3. G-Eazy
Machine Gun Kelly confirms that he smashed G-Eazy’s girl, Halsey, and feels that he can’t rap or do math. The math part is due to Eazy saying that he did more numbers than MGK. He also confirms that they had an episode with each other in Finland, but won’t get into specifics as to what happened simply saying “I remember you coming up and being like ‘Dude, man, you rap circles around me. I could never rap as good as you.”

4. Charlamagne The God
MGK also says that he approached Charlamagne Tha God at the VMA’s about him slandering Cleveland. Charlamagne confirms that this happened.

5. Rap Devil
MGK says that he cut “Rap Devil” and did its video within four hours after hearing Em call him out on “Kamikaze.” For the past few weeks Kelly’s even been walking through his concert crowds after playing “Rap Devil” to show he’s ready for any and all smoke that anyone wants to give him face to face.

6. Missed Shot
MGK felt that “Killshot” was “cheese but the artwork is fire.” That’s why he made t-shirts of the joint. He says even his 9-year-old daughter texted him “Ehh” when she heard “Killshot.” “You can’t even offend a 9-year-old? Aight bruh…”

7. No Love Lost
All things considered, MGK says he was a rap fan growing up being that their experiences as white boys growing up in Black neighborhoods were the same, but he feels that Em isn’t that dude anymore. When asked if he’s down to have a conversation if Em requested one, MGK simply says “F*ck you.” Well, so much for that.

8. Drug Use
Even with the recent events of Mac Miller’s passing, MGK says that he’s not slowing up his drug use. He says there was even a time when he did so much of something that he was scratching his skin off. But he still won’t stop. “The reality of the situation is you can’t as a world expect to break people down constantly and not expect them to want some type of escape. I don’t have a mom I can call. I don’t have a father I can call… I have a 9-year-old I can and confide all my things.” Damn, that’s pretty sad, b.
