When people are in love, they make bad decisions – Angela Valdez
Plans become reality, side pieces become main problems, and snitching rises to another complicated level. It’s chess, not checkers on this week’s episode of Power.
Tasha and Ghost have a tall task on their hands; reassuring their respective side pieces that everything will be OK if they stick to the plan. Tasha pleads with Silver to lie under oath to protect Tariq, to which Silver seems to comply. Ghost lends a ear to Angela’s fears of plummeting into a pit of criminality with every moves she makes. The sex between the two sets of forbidden lovers foreshadows future troubles in paradise.
Ghost recovers from Tate’s attempt to drop him from the Queens Child Project as he begins his gubernatorial campaign, by taping his main employee Alfonse’s conversation where he admits to Tate skimming off the top of the QCP’s profits in order to pay him. Ghost plays the recording for Tate as insurance that he’ll stay on the project and Tate will know not to test his resources ever again.
Tasha and Ghost reconnect to trade notes and finally discuss Silver sleeping with his client’s wife. The hypocrisy reaches astronomical proportions as Ghost, serial cheater since season 1, admonishes Tasha for cheating while he was in prison, while Tasha — who promoted Ghost’s criminal empire and ridiculed him for trying to leave the life — scolds Ghost for holding back her opportunities at “a better life.” Ghost meets Silver to confront him about the affair and his plans to lie under oath. Ghost decides to add extra incentive to Silver’s cooperation; Follow through with the plan and James won’t contact the Ethics committee to report Silver for conflict of interest violations. The plan backfires as Silver invites Tasha to his home, an empty home, and leaves her the subpoena to testify, a check, and a “dear John” post-it note. Silver won’t be an alibi for Tasha. The new plan to exonerate the St. Patricks and Angela? Either Tasha or Ghost takes the fall

The case against Angela is building rapidly. Tameika wants hard evidence to link Angela to Ghost’s criminal empire since they already have an obstruction of justice charge ready to go. Mak and Saxe put further pressure on Teresi to get information on Tommy and Ghost. So Teresi decides to bond with Tommy over criminal activity. Tommy, Teresi, and Sammy visit their connect inside the MCC (Where Teresi was locked up for over 2 decades) to collect their funds. The connect tries to swindle Teresi by underpaying. Bad move. Teresi and Tommy torture and kill the connect, which leads to a reminiscent drive home about Tommy’s best kills in Power history. Teresi invites Tommy over to his place for a family dinner later that evening, so Connie can teach them the ways of advanced money laundering. Connie is more accepting of Tommy now that Teresi finally admits to the affair that led to Tommy’s birth. Connie challenges Teresi to protect Tommy otherwise he’ll be lonely and without family once Connie passes away.
The family dinner goes smoothly until Tommy’s mom Kate crashes the party. The insults are hurled at a feverish pace while Connie remains unbothered. Maury couldn’t have scripted a more intense scene, as Kate is unceremoniously kicked out the house. Connie inquires about a possible lady in Tommy’s life, and Tommy says there is…The only problem is Keisha didn’t really know. They reconcile over dinner and promises by Tommy visit his family. Keisha let’s Tasha know the good news, but also may have unknowingly told her that Tommy does have a new dad (and it’s possibly the man who was locked up with Ghost and terrorizing him.
Teresi later, speaking with Mak and Saxe, decides to snitch on Ghost murdering Marshall Williams (R.I.P. Charlie Murphy).
Angela will also have to contend with Proctor. The criminal defense attorney cut a deal with Saxe to find dirt on Angela covering up murders in exchange for reinstatement as a lawyer (in other words he can practice law). Proctor asks Tommy and they conclude that it may be the Sandoval murder that Angela setup. In a series of hilarious break-ins, first at her apartment then her car, Tommy tries to discover this information for himself. Angela doesn’t budge, but finally accepts that she’s no longer the hero in this tale. With the walls closing in on her, she embraces her dark side and requests that Tommy keep her in mind if she has to eliminate a certain “John” from the equation to save herself. Tommy sees the Devil inside and gains a brief affinity for Angela’s style. The AUSA has one more trick up her sleeve to escape her dilemma.
Angela meets with Steve Tampio to angle for a job as a lead prosecutor in his secret B-613-esque government division so she can leave NYC and all her troubles. She offers this role to Mak to ensure his loyalty and to possibly stall the case against her. Donovan let her know that she has no more friends in the office and purchasing this friendship is her last resort for freedom.

Ghost and Dre can finally execute their plan to kill the connects. After the Micic meeting, where Tommy was ordered to kill the Jimenez quickly, Ghosts enlists Kanan to kill Diego. He sets up the logistics with Dre, who’s organizing a “thank you” party for Diego full of all the drugs and BBWs his heart desires. He gained Diego’s trust by outing Arturo as the “mole” who set him up. Dre’s plan is to send Ghost to kill Diego, then have Spank kill Ghost. Once Dre kills Micic, then he’ll be the only game in town with Alicia working by his side as the main connect. 2-Bit isn’t feeling the plan, but won’t turn down an opportunity to be the number 2 in the organization. 2-Bit informs Kanan of the dual plan to murder the connects and Kanan has his own idea for how it’s going to go down. Kanan tells 2-Bit to get Spank on board with the plan, and the burned god of crime kills Diego himself. Kanan then regales Micic with Diego’s severed head and announces his intentions to take Tommy’s place in the organization. To further prove his loyalty, he tells Micic to leave the hotel to avoid a hit, and to keep Dre alive as he’s the only connection to the Jimenez operation. Between this and preparing Tariq to be the next pill pushing legend at Choate, Kanan’s got all of his plans moving, and no one may be wiser…until it’s too late.
