After serving a portion of an unjust sentencing, Meek Mill is home and the culture – along with rich white Billionaires even – are celebrating his release and patiently waiting to see which direction he’s going to go with his music (expect some political prisoner content).
After making his way to the NBA Playoffs and some high profile interviews, Meek has finally landed in the guest seat of The Breakfast Club as a free man who is on a mission to bring attention to criminal justice reform.
Answering questions from Envy, Da God, and Angela Yee, Meek Mill talks about squashing his beef with any and every rapper he’s had problems with, rolling with armed security, and how he got addicted to prescription drugs.
Here are the 10 things we learned from Meek Mill on The Breakfast Club.

1. Grand Hustle
One of the reasons it didn’t work out between Meek Mill and Grand Hustle is because he had managers that wanted to get their own interests satisfied before Meek and that threw a wrench into the whole situation.

2. Bodyguards
Meek has no problem saying that he hires armed security whenever he travels. He doesn’t care if people say he’s not “keeping it real” for doing so. Can’t be mad at that at all. The way the game has changed these days and the situation he’s in right now, this is the best way he can go about his daily life without getting violated for some BS.

3. Not Taking Any Requests
That judge that gave Meek a very hard time apparently hails from his hood and Meek says her request to remake Boyz II Men’s “On Bended Knee” “is what it is.” We wonder how that would’ve sounded had he complied with the ridiculous request. Just sayin.

4. The Beast Lies
When cops accused Meek of pointing a gun at them and another said he broke his hand (which the cop broke punching Meek in the face), Meek thought for sure the Black judge would’ve seen through the jig but ultimately found him guilty of all charges. Everyone knows if Meek would’ve really pointed a gun at police he would’ve been shot on the spot.

5. Addictions
Meek admits that he got addicted to opioids after he got a tooth pulled out by a dentist. Later on a woman he met put him on to Percocet after she convinced him it can lead to hours of sex and that led to another addiction. He does say the sex he had with the woman who put him on was worth it.

6. Nicki, Safaree & Drake
Meek says he doesn’t have any problem with Nicki Minaj or anyone else he used to have a problem and earlier stated that he had nothing to do with Safaree getting jumped outside of DJ Khaled’s party. As for the 6 God, he still hasn’t talked to Drake but does feel he’s putting out good energy in the air and wouldn’t mind having a conversation with him and “keep it movin’ in life.”

7. Beef To Go
Having just got out of prison where heads are doing life for murder, Meek says Hip-Hop beef isn’t that serious and is willing to squash whatever beef he might still have with Game and Wack 100. He knows rap stars aren’t going to be squeezing on each other in the streets. He even says he just spoke to Beanie Sigel and they got past their misunderstanding.

8. Jay-Z
Meek admits that Jay-Z was responsible for handling some of his legal fees that went up into the millions. He also says he couldn’t believe it when Beyoncé said “Free Meek” on “Top Off.”

9. Confessions
Originally he didn’t want his son to know he was in jail so his family told him that “dad in school.” But after a few weeks he confessed to his son that he was locked up for “riding dirt bikes.” Meek says he wanted to keep the explanation simple and not get into the details.

10. Kanye West
He feels where Kanye West is coming from and said as far as the media criticism, “he’s making some good points” but then on the flip side “he’s making some bad points too and it overshadowing the points he really makin.’”
