It’s been a minute since we’ve heard any new material from Teyana Taylor (just leak something already!) but she’s no doubt been on her grind via her fitness program and her acting career. Now that she and her Sacramento Kings player hubby Iman Shumpert’s reality TV show Teyana & Iman debuts tonight, the G.O.O.D. Music artist checked into The Breakfast Club to talk up a storm.
From explaining why she reluctantly had a natural childbirth to how she reacted when she met the legendary Janet Jackson, Teyana sure knows how to tell a story.
Here are the 9 things we learned from Teyana Taylor on The Breakfast Club.
1. Kanye West
Kanye West produced Teyana Taylor’s entire new album. She said that’s part of the reason it hasn’t dropped yet.
2. Grizzly
Teyana Taylor says that she went on her tour only two weeks after giving birth to her daughter. Savagery.
3. Survival of The Fittest
Even though she’s as fit as they come, Teyana Taylor says she doesn’t go to the gym. She doesn’t want to add any more muscle to her naturally toned body. She’d rather keep up with her own Fade 2 Fitness workout.
4. Iman Shumpert
Even though Teyana says that Iman Shumpert is taking his rap career more seriously these days, she didn’t include him on her album. He does help her write and even penned some of her VII album.
5. Trading Places
When the Cleveland Cavaliers traded Iman Shumpert to the Sacramento Kings, Teyana was happy that he would be closer to their LA home.
6. Teyana & Iman Show
As far as their VH1 reality show, she says that VH1 reached out to them to ask them if they were interested in sharing their everyday life. Iman wasn’t too keen on the idea, but eventually agreed to participate.
7. Home Birth
Teyana says that the only reason she had a natural birth in her home was because as soon as her water broke, her baby’s head was crowning and she couldn’t walk anywhere. Before that she was ready to have a baby at the hospital with an epidural and everything.
8. Trust
Even though NBA players are known to cheat on their significant others, Teyana says she trusts Iman and women making up rumors just comes with the territory. She also says they go through each other’s DM’s together and they have each others passwords. That’s trust.
9. Janet Jackson
When Teyana meet Janet Jackson she cried and was left speechless. She was eventually able to give Janet a Teyana Taylor shirt with her face all over it. At least she’s humble.
