After years of being non-relevant in today’s Hip-Hop game, Ma$e in one fell swoop became the talk of the town again when he dropped an unforeseen diss track aimed at his frenemy, Cam’ron, “The Oracle.” Since then the two have made the rounds on the media circuit and needless to say all types of tea has been spilled.
This time around Ma$e dropped by the Angie Martinez show for a lengthy hour and a half interview in which he opened up about his issues with Cam while also taking the time to talk about why he did the Bad Boy Reunion Tour, crediting his sister with starting the Harlem World movement in the 90’s and warning Cam that this won’t end well for him if he keeps this beef going.
Here are the 14 things we learned from Ma$e on the Angie Martinez Show.

1. The Oracle
Without going into detail part of Ma$e dropping “The Oracle” had to do with things that went on in his adolescent years that apparently someone couldn’t let go of. “The spirit of the song is I’m a grown man… whatever we went through at 19 or 20 or even 21, grow up.” Ma$e even admitted that “The Oracle” is a few years old and only added one or two bars to it.

2. Bad Ending?
When asked by Angie “How does it end?” Ma$e simply says “If it’s not stopped it’s gonna end bad for him.” He does also add “Really I have nothing else to say. I said what I needed to say. He went on the radio and said what he had to say. I go on the radio and said what I have to say. It could stop there or it don’t have to.” Ma$e then points out that he knew Cam for at least 10 years before becoming “enemies for almost 20 years.”

3. Murda Ma$e
For anyone thinking Ma$e was and is soft is they should know that “You only saw my soft, passive side… ‘Cause even when you saw me with Puff you saw the part that was good for the business. You had to know I was somebody before that.”

4. Real Talk
Aside from the Hud line in “The Oracle” Ma$e says he stands by everything he spit on that record. When asked about Cam claiming not to have a sister Ma$e stood quiet for a minute before saying “I’m not here to get sued by somebody cause see, what I’m sayin’ to you, it could turn into something bigger… I stand by what I said.” The plot thickens.

5. Big & Pac
Though he’s entangled in a long lasting beef with Cam, Ma$e says he doesn’t want his story forever tied to Cam’ron like Biggie and Tupac “Like whenever you say Biggie you gotta say Tupac because of how they went at each other. This is not that serious.” Sorry Pastor but that ship has sailed.

6. Bad Boy Tour
Ma$e says he did the Bad Boy Tour to be the “Bigger person. No matter what money they gave me it wasn’t what I was worth. The Bad Boy Tour, it wouldn’t have been the same if I didn’t walk on that stage but I did that for the fans.” Does have a point there to be honest.

7. Dame Dash
Without quoting Dame Dash word for word Ma$e remembers that when he returned with “Welcome Back” in the mid 00’s Dame told him “You and Cam should beef. It’ll stay on wax.” He says he looked at Dame like he lost his mind.

8. Puff Diss?
Ma$e admits that there was times he thought about dissing Puff but recognizes “As a man you got to respect people who turned the lights on for you.” Being under contract with a record label for 17 years would have someone feeling a certain way.

9. Broke As A Joke
Ma$e admits that Cam’s sneaker hand me downs where his “get fresh” because his family was as poor as they come. He says he was the “dirty n*gga. Cam was the fresh n*gga” in the crew.

10. Evaluating Cam’ron
Ma$e thinks that Cam has a problem with being “second” to people in his life. In other words “he has a problem with authority.” Which is why he thinks he beefed with him when he was on top, Jay-Z when he signed to Rocafella, Jim Jones when Jim blew up, and 50 Cent when 50 was on top. Interesting take.

11. Stason Betha
Stason Betha is the one who ultimately got Ma$e’s demo tape Puff and Biggie and credits her for spearheading the Harlem movement of the mid and late 90’s. Ma$e says she deserves respect for that.

12. Roads Less Traveled
Ma$e feels that Cam’s constantly interjected himself into Ma$e numerous paths in life to detract him from where he was trying to go in life. When asked where he’s trying to go now, Ma$e says “I don’t feel comfortable sharing that at this point.” Probably doesn’t want Cam’ron finding a way into that route. We kid we kid.
13. Assist From Cam
Interestingly enough it was Cam’ron that called Ma$e and told him that Puff left Ma$e’s deal with Atlantic Records. At the time Ma$e still thought he was under Bad Boy Records. He credits Cam’ron for that assist. After that Ma$e worked out a deal with Atlantic to get released from that contract.

14. Fur For Murda
Ma$e credits Puff for never giving him anything and having him earn it. Even when he lived with Puff he says his room was just a stash room for a collection of fur coats. Not even a bed in there. Say what you will, he really has come a long way from freshening up hand me down sneakers and sleeping in fur coat closets.
