To many Hip-Hop heads Big K.R.I.T has become that rapper that most people aren’t aware of but need to be incorporating into their rotation list.
Having just dropped a 22 track double album in 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time, the rapper/producer from Mississippi isn’t afraid to let his creativity speak for him on many levels.
Today, the spiritual MC dropped by the Breakfast Club and opened up to the morning trio on personal subjects from his battle with alcoholism, changing his lifestyle, and when he’d like to start having kids.
Here are the 6 things we learned from Big K.R.I.T. on The Breakfast Club.

1. Eating Healthy
Big K.R.I.T. says he got on his health kick after seeing What The Health and cut back on drinking and started eating right. It definitely helps when wifey is on the same regiment as you are.

2. Motivation Music
K.R.I.T. says he’s not doing this rap thing for the fortune and fame so much as he’s doing it to motivate the next man to do something with his life. Props.

3. “Drinking Sessions”
He admits that he wrote “Drinking Sessions” while drunk and originally recorded it to play for himself. Though he won’t say what he went through that inspired him to write that record he says that part of it is people not understanding “what it’s like to be in a position where you feel like you great, you keep trying to prove it, but you don’t have a radio record.”
4. Spirituality
BK believes that spirituality is lacking in people and that leads to the kind of violence and negativity that people go through on a daily basis. So he incorporates spirituality into his lyrics because he feels it would be wrong of him to “not rap about that at all.”

5. Alcholism
He says alcoholism is still “a battle everyday” but says he has cut back on it something serious.
6. Family Man
Even though he just moved in with his girlfriend, K.R.I.T. says he would like to get married before starting a family.
BK was recording his latest album on his own and coming out of pocket for it himself before his label got involved and turned it into his double album 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time.
