Nike and pioneering grime artist Skepta have collaborated on a new Air Max 97 design and man is it spiffy.
Inspired by a trip to the Moroccan city of Essaouira, the kicks dubbed the Air Max 97 Sk are the second pair of kicks he designed for Nike (last February he dropped a Air Max BW based loosely on his 2012 album Blacklisted) and sports a copper-ish colorway mixed in with a black base.
According to Factmag, the Air Max 97’s hold a special place in theKonnichiwa MC’s heart as they were first pair of kicks that Skepta said he saved up money to buy so he wanted to do them justice when he was given the opportunity to design them.
The Air Max 97 Sk’s will be available worldwide this September 2nd and do expect them to be something hypebeasts will be stalking until then.
Check out pics of the joints below and on the flip, and let us know if you’ll be checking for these come September.
