8 Things We Learned From French Montana On The Breakfast Club

A lot of people thought that once Khloe Kardashian and French Montana broke up that French was bound to become a Hip-Hop memory. Nope.

The BX rapper has seen more success in his post-Kardashian days than ever before. Today the Mac and Cheese rapper dropped by The Breakfast Club to talk about how much he dropped to clear a sample for his smash hit “Unforgettable,” trying to get Max B to Summer Jam, and what he learned from his trip to Uganda.

1. Unforgettable

“Unforgettable” was originally Swae Lee’s record but he wasn’t really focusing on it before French jumped on it and made it a hit.

2. Sample Check

French had to come out of pocket with $300,000 just to clear the sample on “Unforgettable” but he’s more than made his money back on the 5X platinum record.

3. Summer Jam

French said that Max B was doing his bid just 10 minutes away from the Summer Jam stage and thought he would be able to work something out to have him perform. Unfortunately it didn’t work out.

4. Jay-Z

He remembers when he was on the come up he jumped into a picture with Jay-Z and Usher. No one knew who he was but still let him rock. He also remembers Usher and Jay arguing over Jay participating in Usher’s video. Jay wasn’t too keen on it.

5. Motivation

He says that Chinx and Max B motivated him to make it in the rap game.

6. Uganda

His trip to Uganda exposed him to how people living in poverty can still find happiness in their everyday life. He learned that “if you ain’t rich at heart you’ll never be rich.”
