10 Things We Learned From Marsha Ambrosius On The Breakfast Club

When Floetry broke up a decade ago many of their fans were confused and dumbfounded as to why one of the UK’s great musical imports stopped messing with each other.

Still though, Marsha Ambrosius continued to make a name for herself and today the singer who’s about to put out her latest EP, Don’t Wake The Baby, stopped by The Breakfast Club to clear some things up.

Speaking to Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy, Marsha speaks about why “the Floacist,” Natalie Stewart walked out of the group, when Marsha gave up on trying to reconcile with her, and almost laying hands on Amanda Seales.

1. Beyoncé

Marsha Ambrosius wrote “Don’t Wake The Baby” for Beyoncé a year and change ago while B was in the midst of doing Lemonade.

2. Floetry Breakup

Apparently, Natalie Stewart’s manager told the label they wanted a solo deal during her Floetry days and threatened to leave if she didn’t get one. The labeled balked at the demand and she walked.

3. Make-Up Attempt

The last time she spoke to her Floetry sister was the very last day of last year’s reunion tour. By her part she did back-to-back tours to try to bury the hatchet and move forward on possible future projects. Stewart apparently had no interests in any of that.

4. Nail In The Coffin

Marsha Ambrosius figured that Natalie didn’t care about reconciliation when Natalie would smoke on their tour bus knowing that Marsha was pregnant.

5. Shade

One time Marsha heard Natalie on a loudspeaker co-sign the rumored high mileage on Marsha’s sex life in Philly. That showed her Stewart wasn’t her right-hand woman no more.

6. Lesbian Rumor

She didn’t mind that people were saying she and Natalie were lesbians because it wasn’t true.

7. Pettiness

Once in her early 20’s Marsha had gotten pregnant but had a miscarriage. Years later she found out that Natalie had hired her would’ve been baby daddy as her manager.

8. Miscarriage Lie

Natalie once told Marsha she had a miscarriage as well which led to Marsha feeling empathy for her. She later found out Stewart lied about it.

9. Prince

Prince convinced Marsha to ask RCA to let her out of her contract. She called them up and they actually let her walk.

Marsha was going to try to physically fight Amanda Seales one time in ATL because of their bickering towards one another. Cooler heads prevailed and she says they’re cool now.
