David Banner has been one of the more spiritually inspiring rappers in the game. Though he’s been ghost for quite some time his upcoming album The God Box is getting pre-ordered to death right now.
The Southern OG dropped by The Breakfast Club and shared some jewels and what’s sure to be controversial thoughts such as his feelings that Black people aren’t racist enough, Hip-Hop giving in to white supremacy, and why Donald Trump being President is a good thing.
Here are the 10 things we learned from David Banner on The Breakfast Club.

1. Henny No Mo’
At one point David Banner drank so much Hennessey that his body started rejecting alcohol. Not only did the Henny turn the back of his mouth brown, but anytime he’d have any alcohol he’d throw it back up.
2. Mo Money Mo Problems
Somewhere near the height of his career David Banner went through a depression and realized money doesn’t guarantee happiness.
3. Hip-Hop/White Supremacy
Banner believes that Hip-Hop is giving in to white supremacy due to the emasculating subject matter of the music.
4. Racism
DB feels that Black people aren’ racist enough in the sense that like white racist people who only look out for white people, Black people should only take care of Black people as well.
5. College Hustler
He didn’t start hustling until he got to college because his neighborhood OG dealers knew him as “the music dude” and didn’t want him to derail his future dealing dope with them.
6. Donald Trump
Banner sees Trump being President is “one of the best things to ever happen to America” because it made the Black community wake up and engage and pay attention to what’s going on in politics today.
7. Pray For My Downfall
Banner’s had two death threats since he’s decided to become outwardly conscious.
8. Malcolm & Martin
David isn’t a fan of “leaders” and feels Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X hurt the movement more than helped because when they died their deaths stopped everything due to the people believing more in the men than the codes and the ethics. That being said his next album, The God Box is dropping on Malcolm X’s birthday, May 19.
9. Jim Brown
Like most of us, David Banner was upset that Jim Brown met with Donald Trump and called his people to see what gives and was thanked for calling before criticizing. Interestingly enough their response was that Jim Brown helped Obama get elected and Obama did nothing to help Black children while Jim Brown was rocking with the Amer-I-Can program which helps kids in LA. So Jim wanted to see “what the white dude gonna do.”
10. The Devil Is A Lie
David Banner doesn’t believe in the Devil because he doesn’t believe God would create something to rival him/herself.
