Michael Eric Dyson is that man you need to listen to. Not only because of his keen intellect on sociology and history but because he’s also extremely entertaining and well versed in the culture.

With his next book Tears We Cannot Stop: A Sermon To White America having dropped, the Georgetown University professor of Sociology stopped by the Breakfast Club to build with the morning trio about Black celebrities meeting with Trump and the one condition he wouldn’t have a problem with it, why he thinks Trump got 13% of the Black vote, and why he dedicated his book to Beyoncé, Solange, and Tina Knowles.

Here are the 10 things we learned from Michael Eric Dyson on The Breakfast Club.

1. Donald Trump Meeting With Black Celebrities

Mr. Dyson feels Donald Trump is trying to avoid Black politicians out of fear of being held accountable of his promises so he’ll just meet with “Negro entertainers and ball players and figures who are famous” to avoid dealing with the actual issues of Black America that real social justice warriors would bring to the table.

10. Beyoncé

Even though he feels that Beyoncé done snatched Michael Jackson’s crown as the greatest entertainer of all-time, that isn’t why he dedicated his book to her and her fam. Mr. Dyson chose to dedicate his book to Beyoncé, Solange & Tina Knowles because they’re a “trio of transformative women” who constantly show “their commitment to our people, their commitment to our world, their humanitarian and entrepreneur efforts, and their fundamental gut bucket love unapologetically for the people from whose wombs they emerged.” We couldn’t have said it any better.
