It all comes down to this. SPOILER AHEAD

Luke Cage and Diamondback are set to go mano y mano in the middle of Harlem and the world is a watchin’. The only way this could’ve been more fitting was if it would’ve taken place at The Rucker or the Apollo Theater.

With his new super suit on, Diamondback proves to be more than a match for Luke as he’s never had to shoot the five with anyone on his power level.

How will Luke fare in a fair one with someone who can match him pound for pound and hates his very existence? Will Mariah Dillard finally get exposed for being a murderer and accomplice to Diamondback’s numerous crimes? Does Misty Knight have one more thirst trap dress left in her closet for the millions of single men hoping to see her in her full traffic stopping glory? Let’s find out shall we.

Here’s a quick recap of the season finale of Marvel’s Luke Cage, episode 13: You Know My Steez.

The Place Where We Dwell

It turns out that teenage Carl and Willis were as tight as real brothers (though only Willis knew that they were in fact brothers). Willis was even Carl’s boxing trainer and promised to always be in Carl’s corner no matter what.

Moment Of Truth

Luke and a high tech dipped Stryker finally go mano y mano with the whole neighborhood watching. With Diamondback gave Luke all he could handle but eventually the good guy won because, you know, life. Police could’ve easily ended it all by pumping a Judas bullet or two into Diamondback but had their eyes on Luke Cage the entire time and let the fight play out on it’s own. If you grew up throwing hands in the hood you’d know that sometimes police do in fact let things play out as they will so long as no one pulls a weapon.

Check The Technique

After Luke was done putting a bow on Diamondback police closed in on Cage, but Misty deaded that talk by arresting Mariah Dillard for the murder of Cornell Stokes. Unfortunately Mariah had already spilled the tea about Luke Cage being an escaped Seagate convict named Carl Lucas to a camera crew that was covering the hell up in Harlem.

Here’s The Proof

Mariah Dillard does her best to spin the most creative of yarns on the death of Cornell. Says Diamondback did it and made her say it was Luke Cage. Detective Misty Knight poked enough holes in her story to make Donald Trump seem like Honest Abe. After playing her a clip of Candance implicating Mariah in Cornell’s murder, Dillard went on the offensive and called Misty Knight a “trick.”

Work

Using the phone he stole from Misty Knight during Diamondback’s grand entrance back at Pop’s barbershop, Shades lures Candance out in the open where he plugs one in her dowm. Due to her sudden death, Dillard walks away scott free much to Misty’s dismay. Inspector Ridley threw some salt on the wound by reminding Misty that Candance died because she didn’t “trust the system” and had Candance been in protective custody, Mariah would’ve gotten sent up the river.

She Knowz What She Wantz

After Mariah Dillard pulled Luke Cage’s card on national TV, the feds got numerous calls and went to re-arrest Carl Lucas for breaking out of Seagate Prison. He peacefully gave himself up but not before getting some Latino heat from Claire. Well, let’s just call it Latino warmth as he was only able to get some tongue action. Either way she promises to call on a “great lawyer in town” she knows i.e. Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil.

The ? Remainz

Cue The Wire-isk kind of season finale ending which showed how all the major players of the story went about the end of their day to the tune of 100 Days, 100 Nights. Mariah and Shades broke their sexual tension with a light kiss on the lips; a broken down Diamondback is in the care of the mad scientist from Seagate Dr. Burstein; Bobby Fish found the evidence folder proving that Carl Lucas was set up by Willis Stryker; and Misty Knight ended up where she began, looking beautiful as ever in Harlem’s Paradise just scoping the balcony and waiting for Harlem’s new crime boss to slip up. Marvel’s The Defenders can’t get here quick enough…
