An United Airlines passenger named Amanda Stevens claims they were kicked off their flight because their Black Panther hat and A$AP Rocky t-shirt scared the pilot.

Journalist Amanda Stevens is calling United Airlines racist after they refused to allow her to fly the friendly skies.

In a series of tweets, Stevens documented her ordeal that started with the pilot feeling “uncomfortable” with her wearing that infamous A$AP Rocky shirt with the American flag turned upside down. In case you forgot, this was the same shirt that was discontinued a while back after people said it made them feel uncomfortable as well. Stevens tweeted that the pilot confronted her about the shirt and asked that she take it off. Stevens tells iO9 that she has traveled in the shirt before, but wore it inside out, which she offered to do again.

Stevens was allowed on the plane, but then she was told to remove another article of clothing, her Marvel Black Panther hat.

[Ed. Note: Yes, we know. We see it too. But Stevens asks to be referred to as her/she in their Twitter bio. So, that’s what we are calling her.]

After more back and forth with a flight attendant, Stevens was eventually kicked off the flight. Stevens says that United sent her a direct message on Twitter as she was tweeting about the ordeal. Stevens assumed that she would be booked on another flight, however she says that she was sent to the service counter, was never really attended to and wound up sitting in the airport for two hours.

As of now, United has failed to acknowledge the event. In fact, when asked for a statement by iO9, the sent a response about a totally different complaint.

This isn’t the first time United has practiced some questionable ethics. Vic Mensa put the airline on blast for kicking him off a flight on his birthday. He says that he was on the phone talking one of his fans out of committing suicide, when they asked him to hang up before takeoff. When he refused, they removed him.

Story developing.
