Last week, A$AP Rocky found that out that the Internet never forgets when an old Time Out New York interview he gave in 2015 came back to haunt him like a paternity test. Pretty Flacko found himself the target of a Twitter backlash that hadn’t been seen since, well, since the whole Jennifer Lopez “All Lives Matter” fiasco last week.
In said interview the Harlem rapper said the kind of things that many in the urban community felt was basically him turning his back to the problems going on in the hood. But a tired A$AP Rocky took the time out his schedule to stop by The Breakfast Club to clear up and explain what he meant in the controversial interview.
He feels that the interview he gave which painted him as someone who didn’t care about the Black Lives Matter movement was taken out of context and a lot of his answers were the byproduct of what he felt were agitating questions that were being thrown at him by the interviewer.
Needless to say this sit down with Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee was just as interesting as the controversial interview he gave last year. “Do your Googles, dawg.”
Here are 12 things we learned from A$AP Rocky on The Breakfast Club.

1. Police Brutality
He feels the response he gave in 2015 was a combination of him misspeaking and getting misquoted because he wasn’t ready to get bombarded with questions about why he hadn’t addressed past police brutalities either musically or socially.

2. Lost Ones
At the time that certain police brutalities were making headlines, Rocky was going through his own motions as he lost his father during the making of his first album and his man Yams during the making of his second album.

3. Black Lives
He doesn’t understand why Black lives only matter when police take them and not when another Black man takes them.

4. Racial Profiled
While staying out in LA, cops followed Rocky with helicopters for 20 minutes and had them lay out in the street after Rocky triggered his own home alarm.

5. Interracial Dating
The man who once wifed up the Hip-Hop pariah known as Iggy Azalea is obviously not bothered by people who hate on Black men dating white women. He thinks “interracial dating is dope.”

He doesn’t mean to offend anyone but he doesn’t want people to think he’s strictly pro-Black. He feels he’s about everybody living.

7. Cosby Show
He likens his career to Bill Cosby where he did so much positive only to get judged for one [bad] thing “Which he was convicted of being innocent for by the way.” Interesting comparison to say the least.

8. My Life
As far as the statement that he’d rather talk about drugs and clothes instead of Black issues, A$AP says he meant that he’d like to talk about what he’s going through personally in his life.
