Erykah Badu hosted the 2015 Soul Train Awards, which aired last night, and lacked rap music to focus on R&B and Soul. It also meant Badu clowning the hell out of Iggy Azalea.
“You can come, ’cause what you doin’ is definitely not rap,” joked Badu while pretending to take a call on stage from the “Fancy” rapper.
Azalea is low-hanging fruit when it comes to shade targeting. But that was funny.
Expect Azalea to never pen any bars Badu’s way, take to Twitter to complain about how the singer is bullying her and spin another woe is me tale sooner than later.
Watch Badu hurl her shade below. Also, watch the Soul Cypher with Erykah Badu (ala DJ Low Down Loretta Brown) spinning and Chrisette Michele, K-Ci Hailey, Eddie Levert and Lalah Hathaway kicking vocals over Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones” on the flip.
