Travi$ Scott obviously has no qualms in sacrificing his reputation in exchange for getting his name in the news.
The rowdy G.O.O.D. Music member encouraged onlooking fans to jump security barricades just as Lollapalooza set had begun on Saturday in Chicago’s Grant Park. He also lead a “middle finger to security” charge. Law enforcement on hand didn’t find any of that amusing and they quickly cut the 23-year-old rapper’s set short and arrested him. According to ABC7Chicago, Scott (real name Jacques Webster) was charged with disorderly conduct five minutes into his set. He has since posted bail and been released.
The Office of Emergency Management issued a statement which read, “The performer played one song and then began telling fans to come over the barricades. Due to the security’s quick response, the situation was remedied immediately and no fans were injured. The performer fled the scene and was taken into custody a short while later.”
Aside from Travi$ Scott’s tomfoolery, organizers for the annual festival said the incidents were next to nonexistent. Damned Hip-Hop has struck again.
Peep Travi$ Scott’s short-lived set and the subsequent shut down on the next page. By the way, his Rodeo album drops in September. All press is good press, right?
