The Notorious B.I.G.’s recording contract and other documents are going up for sale, and for the first time ever, fans will get a peak at the only known contract signed by the late Brooklyn MC’s before his death.
Paddle 8 put Biggie’s items up for its “Legendary” series. Additional Hip-Hop memorabilia featured includes a handwritten letter from the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, a picture of Tupac Shakur on a rollercoaster (apparently anything can be sold), and a signed Straight Outta Compton vinyl.
Biggie’s MCA contract is expected to fetch $5,000-$7,000, with an opening bid of $4,800. Another document from the lot, is a letter confirming the dissolution of his contract with Uptown Records, where Diddy worked back when he was “Puffy.”
After he got fired, the then budding music mogul, took Bad Boy Records over to Arista Records, documents of which are also being auctioned off.
The auction ends on Jun 25. See the photos of the contracts, and Biggie’s signature, below.
