You haven’t seen real celebrity beef until former lovers and/or spouses are throwing down in a court of law. Those child and spousal support payments are real.
News of Tamika Fuller—who gave birth to a child fathered by Ludacris—lunching a GoFundMe campaign to help with her own legal costs and start a foundation for “mothers who are in similar situations” raised some eyebrows to say the least. You hate to see scorned, former lovers in front of the judge, but these 12 celebs in ugly custody battles took it there.

Usher vs. Tameka Foster
“Confessions” might have been fictional, but the titles “Papers” and Raymond Vs. Raymond were very applicable when Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster squared off after a 2009 divorce. After some TMZ-style mudslinging, Usher was granted primary custody of their two sons in 2012.
Dwyane Wade vs. Siohvaughn Funches
Few male celebs have gotten slandered as terribly as D-Wade when his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches accused him of giving her an STD and claimed she was homeless. Despite all the Drama, the Miami Heat baller was granted full custody of their sons Zaire and Zion in 2011.
Halle Berry vs. Gabriel Aubry
Not only has Halle Berry had to kick in spousal support for her ex-husband Gabriel Aubry, but she was ordered to split custody with her ex and has publicly feuded with him over everything from visitation to grooming of their daughter’s hair.
Deion Sanders vs. Pilar Sanders
NFL commentator and former all-pro defensive back Deion Sanders won a custody battle that made his ex-wife Pilar look downright mental. Leaked private recordings and Pilar’s claims she could only be judged by the Moroccan Empire probably made it easier to award Deion primary custody of their three children. Her being locked up for contempt of court probably didn’t help matters either.
Damon Dash vs. Rachel Roy
We saw Dame Instagram himself on multiple occasions in court, at his house, and in front of police in what is turning into a nasty battle with his ex-wife Rachel Roy. Between the accusations flying in both directions, it appears both parties will be rolling up their proverbial sleeves and dropping the gloves.
Ludacris vs. Tamika Fuller
Rapper and actor Ludacris caught some serious cyber slander before, during, and after a custody battle with his sidepiece Tamika Fuller. Despite being with long-time girlfriend (now wife) Eudoxie, Luda fathered a daughter with Fuller, but ultimately won full custody in a battle that got publicly ugly.
Michael Jackson and Katherine Jackson vs. Debbie Rowe
The two kids Michael Jackson sired with Debbie Rowe were initially to be in MJ’s sole custody and estranged from her based on a mutual agreement. Things changed after Jackson’s death, when Paris and Prince were turned over to the custody of Katherine Jackson. Another legal battle between Rowe and Jackson could change things once again.
Eva Marcille vs. Kevin Mccall
Former America’s Next Top Model winner Eva Marcille battled her ex-boyfriend Kevin McCall over custody of their daughter Marley. Despite some shady subtweeting on McCall’s part, she was granted both full custody and a restraining order against McCall.
M.I.A. vs. Benjamin Bronfman
In 2013, with zero chill at her disposal, M.I.A. took to Twitter and accused her ex-husband Benjamin Bronfman of trying to steal the former couple’s child. Things really got ugly when Bronfman allegedly hit her with a restraining order.
Master P. vs. Sonya Miller
After Sonya Miller claimed Master P left her penniless and he counterclaimed she had drug and alcohol issues, things got rather messy. The case took a strange turn in 2014 when P allegedly skipped a court date. In turn, Sonya was granted sole physical and legal custody of their four children, and P was ordered to pay her legal bill and sanctions for not showing up in court.
Arian Foster vs. Brittany Norwood
Houston Texans running back Arian Foster made TMZ headlines when the mother of his child claimed he attempted to pressure her into getting an abortion. Foster shot back calling the allegations an attempt to get him for more child support. Ultimately, it took a judge’s gag order to shut them both up before the agreed to a co-parenting agreement.
Rae Carruth vs. Saundra Adams
After a judge ruled he played a role in the shooting death of Cherica Adams, Rae Carruth was allowed to see the son Adams was pregnant with at the time of her death. Adams’ mother Saundra previously had full custody, and understandably was opposed to such visits.
