Earlier today (April 14), 11 of 12 educators convicted in the Atlanta Public Schools cheating scandal received prison sentences ranging between two years to 20 years.
The teachers, in the most extreme cases, will serve just seven years of the sentence for racketeering. As the news broke, segments of Black Twitter that have been following the case or involved in education voiced their opinions on the sentencing. Their commentary was mixed, with some citing race as a determining factor in the jail time the ex-educators received.
