Pioneering Brand Nubian co-founder Lord Jamar has never been shy about his views on Hip-Hop. After giving some rather strong opinions on white rappers like Macklemore, Yelawolf, and Iggy Azalea, Lord Jamar and Royce Da 5’9 had a cyber disagreement about Eminem via Twitter.
Unlike past debates with Yelawolf and Marlon Wayans, this one was completely civil.
Royce and Lord Jamar debated the importance of Eminem’s contributions to Hip-Hop, with the pair ultimately agreeing to disagree.
Whether you were on Twitter to witness Royce Da 5’9 and Lord Jamar debate race and Eminem or not, check out their exchange and see if you side with Lord Jamar or Royce Da 5’9 on this issue.

Once Lord Jamar tweeted the link to his VladTV interview, everyone weighed in with an opinion.
The God told folks to have many seats.
Royce asked for a word, was much more respectful in subsequent tweets, and things got interesting.
A respectful debate begins. Queue up the “Birdman hand rub” memes.
Let’s save you some time. Jamar argued that Eminem benefits from white privilege just like other successful white rappers…
And Royce lists some of Eminem’s contributions as a counterargument.
So there’s an initial debate between accomplishments and contributions. Semantics or nah?
Lord Jamar is not impressed.
It appears we have a lengthy (but respectful) Twitter debate about the merits of Eminem being “just like” other white rappers versus enjoying privileges “just like” other white rappers.
The key word is respect. That said, Lord Jamar isn’t bowing down.
Then there’s the matter of these VladTV videos and what some would call Lord Jamar’s “pattern of behavior.”
Again, it appears Royce takes umbrage with the statements, but he still keeps things respectful.
Does anyone else feel like we’re right back where we started from?
Ultimately, these two just agreed to disagree. But unlike past critics of Lord Jamar’s VladTV interviews, this was a respectful dialogue from start to finish.
