During a tour stop in Australia, Ice Cube showcased the trailer to the upcoming N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton. An enterprising fan caught the event on tape, and thanks to the marvels of modern technology, it’s out there for the world to see.

Despite having seasoned director F. Gary Gray on hand, an open casting call left somewhat of a mystery around the film’s cast. But thanks to the trailer, here’s what to expect from N.W.A’s Straight Outta Compton, so far.

We now know that Paul Giamatti (famed for Sideways and 12 Years A Slave) plays Ruthless co-founder Jerry Heller.

Dr. Dre

Straight Outta Compton will be one of the rare times fans hear about Dr. Dre’s 1994 incarceration for violating his probation after pleading no contest to drunken-driving charges.

Jason Mitchell, who received some coaching from Eazy-E’s son Eric Wright Jr, plays the role of Eazy-E.

In true South Central L.A. and Compton fashion, the film will revisit the 1992 riots.

Suge Knight

A scene featuring a member busting up a few platinum records with a baseball bat hints at a retelling of Suge Knight and Dr. Dre strong-arming their way off Ruthless Records.

Adding to the family vibe is O’Shea Jackson Jr. who plays the role of his father, Ice Cube.

If the clip is any indication, there will be less of a focus on ancillary N.W.A members like MC Ren (played by Aldis Hodge) and DJ Yella (played by Neil Brown Jr.).

Corey Hawkins

Corey Hawkins steps into the role of Dr. Dre.

It would appear the script makes up for some of the actors’ relative inexperience, since a few were handpicked during open casting calls.
