The Force has awakened but the masses are hitting the snooze button in favor of making fun of it.
Disney announced earlier today that the highly anticipated continuation to the Star Wars franchise had not only finished shooting its principal photography, it also had a new subtitle in The Force Awakens.
Of course, it hasn’t had time to become a household name but the brief announcement was ample time for the people to decide they hated it. Immediately there were an onslaught of memes, mostly of the Darth Vader persuasion, that spun The Force Awakens title into something silly, while some Star Wars junkies tried to show they could do better. We’ve seen this before already this year, and studios usually ignore the ribbing because they know a big payday at the box office is on the horizon.
