There was only one controversial outfit that could trump the shock value of people dressing up like Ray Rice this October: Ebola Halloween costumes.
According to the NYDailyNews, one costume in not only making a killing on the containment suits modeled after the protective garb donned by healthcare workers, he’s telling the public who are offended to basically shove it.
Online costume retailer Brands On Sale really is selling a “sexy Ebola containment suit” costume, the Daily News has confirmed.
The $59.99 getup comes with a white, nurse-inspired dress, an “Ebola face shield,” a breathing mask, safety goggles and blue latex gloves. The faux leather yellow boots are sold separately.
Brands On Sale created the costume after getting requests for a more feminine and revealing version of their Ebola containment suit costume, chief executive Johnathon Weeks told The News on Monday.
“They kept saying, ‘is there any way to sexify it?'” he said.
Controversial costumes like the Ebola-related ones are all in the spirit of the holiday, he said. Brands On Sale carries a number of getups for “people who want the shock factor,” including a baby marijuana plant outfit.
“Halloween is supposed to be fun. It is supposed to be outrageous,” he said. “People need to lighten up and have a sense of humor about this holiday.”
