Ebola has officially made it’s way to the city that never sleeps, and New Yorkers are losing their minds. As previously reported, 31-year-old doctor Craig Spencer tested positive for the disease Thursday (Oct. 23).
The news sent shockwaves through the Big Apple, despite Mayor Bill de Blasio assuring the public that there’s nothing to fear (in English and Spanish, by the way), and reminding everyone that Ebola isn’t airborne. De Blasio even said that there is a “disease detective” on the case.
Too bad his little speech didn’t work. People are terrified. Even with everything we now know about Ebola, and the doctors who have been cured, it’s still not enough to calm basic human fears. On the plus side, Cam’ron is still selling those Ebola masks if anyone is interested.
