Don’t be fooled by Scandal, sexual liaisons with the president have consequences, not like how it down on TV. Monica Lewinsky and President Bill Clinton engaged in an affair that led to the commander in chief’s impeachment in 1998.
Lewinsky didn’t fair well after the sex scandal either. She is without a doubt the most well known White House intern in U.S. history, but her reputation is as stained as the infamous “blue dress.”
She’s been For the better half of millennium, Lewinsky have been in seclusion, and counts herself as the first target of Internet bullying.
There’s certainly a double standard at play, in that Clinton is still hailed and praised, while Lewinsky was banished into inequity. It’s been 15 years and she’s still getting trolled and slandered.

Lewinsky had a sexual relationship with President Bill Clinton for two years.
The ex White House intern shared her story with Linda Tripp, a former White House employee. Tripp secretly recorded their conversations.
Tripp sold Lewinsky out big time. She turned the tapes over to onetime federal court of appeals judge Kenneth Star.
At Tripp’s urging, Lewinsky held on to gifts given to her by thee president and didn’t dry clean the infamous blue dress (you know the one that was stained with his semen?).
Lewinsky testified that she never had sex with Clinton for a 1998 sexual harassment lawsuit brought on by Paula Jones, a former Arkansas state employee who accused the president of propositioning her years earlier.
The Lewinsky sex scandal broke in 2008 via a Washington Post story.
Clinton denied a physical relationship with Lewinsky standing with his wife at his side he famously uttered: “I diet not have sexual relations with that woman.”
Clinton later explained that he denied the affair because he was confused about the meaning of “sexual relations.” He says that he only received oral sex from Lewinsky.
Clinton was impeached on double counts of perjury and obstruction of justice.
In 1998 he gave Jones the $850,000 settlement amount that she was seeking. He never paid Lewinksy.
Lewinsky kind of went away after the Clinton scandal. She did some interviews, and held down an endorsement deal with Jenny Craig for a time, but for the most part the public hadn’t seen her face in years.
