Throughout the Hip-Hop community, Jeezy’s “Holy Ghost (Remix)” featuring Kendrick Lamar was considered an upgrade of sorts. The T.D. Jakes Ministries feels quite the opposite, however.
The promotional record was released in conjunction with Jeezy’s fifth solo studio album Seen It All: The Autobiography and samples Jakes’ popular sermon “Don’t Let The Chatter Stop You.”
Through a message on his official Facebook page, the Ministries released a statement which read, “SPECIAL NOTICE: The ‘Holy Ghost’ remix by Jeezy featuring Kendrick Lamar was produced without the knowledge or consent of T.D. Jakes, TDJ Enterprises, Dexterity Music or its associated companies. We are taking the necessary legal actions to stop the unauthorized use of T.D. Jakes’ intellectual property.”
Jeezy has yet to publicly address the pending lawsuit but his recent romanticized with the oversized bottle of Moët & Chandon alludes to the fact that his worries may be minimal.
Business is business, but various members of the online congregation known as Black Twitter had their gripes over the situation and they voiced their opinions rather loudly. (Some to Jakes’ account directly.)
Hit the flip to see what the people are thinking about the situation.
