Per usual, yours truly returns with a little audible treat just in time for the weekend. Here’s the latest installment of The Wrap Up: Hip-Hop Wired’s Top 10 Songs Of The Week.
Expect the records selected to be more energetic than they’ve been in previous weeks. But we’re sure that you won’t mind that one bit. The usual displays of lyricism and dope production remain in tact through production that, in some cases, are bouncier or more influenced by the trap sound.
Peep the rhyme after the jump. Leave your thoughts in the comments.

10. Migos ft. T.I. – “Trouble”
Producer: TM 808
The Kang rhymes alongside the next generation of Atlanta rap, Migos, on this knocking cut.
9. DOOM & Bishop Nehru – “Caskets”
Producer: DOOM
From the sound of its, DOOM and Nehru have some dope ish on the way.
8. OG Maco – “Want More”
Producer: Deko
The Atlanta newcomer’s absolutely erratic approach to emceeing translates into his third thumping record in recent weeks.
7. 2 Chainz ft. Young Thug – “Dresser (Lil Boy)”
Producer: London On The Track
The City of God reference on the song’s artwork is enough indication that cut above is a hard-hitting jam.
6. Run The Jewels ft. Michael Winslow – “Oh My Darling Don’t Cry”
Producer: El-P
It’s best that you turn your speakers up before pressing play above. You’re welcome.
5. Your Old Droog – “Secondhand Gunsmoke”
Producer: Superblack
Droog leaves the microphone dead and stinking after he waxes lyrically dexterous verses.
4. Cam’ron ft. 2 Chainz – “Snapped”
Producer: N/A
Traditionally speaking, Killa Cam is spot-on when delivering a story. Add his comedic flair and a proper verse from Chainz into the mix, and you have recipe for the track above.
3. Black Milk ft. Bun B – “Gold Piece”
Producer: Black Milk
Back with a proper story is the Detroit producer/rapper, who waxes poetics about the streets alongside the Trill OG.
2. Mick Jenkins – “Rain”
Producer: Kaytranada
After releasing the critically acclaimed project, The Water[s], Chicago’s Mick Jenkins returns with more testimony on this track. Listeners should be happy with the sample.
1. Chidlish Gambino – “Sober”
Producer: N/A
It’s kind of crazy to see that a track this smooth and polished is a rough version. In any case, Bino dazzles with his smooth vocals over the bouncy production.
