With just eight seasons on the air, The Cosby Show changed television as we knew it.

Prior to The Cosby Show’s 1984 premiere there had never been a Black family quite like the Huxtables on the small screen.

Cliff was a doctor, Claire was a lawyer, and their five children  — Rudy, Theo, Denise, Vanessa, and Sondra — kept them busy way beyond their demanding careers. And let’s not forget about all the supporting characters like, the Huxtable grandparentsKenny, Cockroach, Justine, Peter, Olivia, or Cousin Pam (and her fast talking friend, Charmaine). The Cosby Show was in many ways one big party, that taught us how to laugh through life and learn a little something along the way.

In honor of the 30-year anniversary, take a look at the 10 Best Moments from the show’s run.

A Shirt Story

Theo should’ve never let Denise sew that shirt  when he couldn’t afford the real version. So much for saving money…

I’m In With The Crowd

In season six, Vanessa got wasted trying to be cool with her friends. Nothing gets past Mr. and Mrs. Huxtable though.

Coffee Talk

We’ll never forget when Mrs. Huxtable went in on Evlin about coffee and feminism. She’s not one to be crossed.

Happy Anniversary

The Huxtables performing “Night & Day” for Cliff’s parents’ anniversary might be the best episode ever.  Especially when Rudy has her solo.

Regular People

Theo thought he had it all figured out. Get bad grades, finish high school, and then “get a job like regular people.”

Cliff didn’t like the idea, so he schooled his son with this unforgettable line:  “I brought you in this world, and I’ll take you out!”

Fish Funeral

The funeral for Rudy’s pet gold fish, Lamont, wasn’t very sentimental. Nobody wanted to participate, Vanessa wore her ballet uniform, and Rudy just wanted to watch T.V.

Kenny Sings The Blues

“Bud” (Kenny) thought he knew everything about women, thanks to his older brother. In season six, he put those theories to music courtesy of a B.B. King blues duet.

Love & Marriage

Remember the episode where Denise came back from Africa with a husband and stepdaughter? Her father was so confused.

 Reggae Tone

In the 1986 episode titled “Full House” Denise brings over a friend who’s really into reggae.

The Day The Spores Landed

Cliff eats too late before bed and has a crazy a** dream where all the men are pregnant.  Only they didn’t have babies, Theo delivered a sports car, Navy officer Martin gave birth to a ship, and Cliff brought a hoagie sandwich into the world.

** Bonus**

Justine, Justine

Theo was head over heels for Justine, played by late actress Michelle Thomas. He was willing to do anything from singing to trying out a family face remedy,  just to win her heart.
