WorldStarHipHop owner Lee “Q” O’Denat stopped by The Breakfast Club to discuss his new film and second installment of The Field, The Field: Miami.

In the company of Charlamagne, DJ Envy and Angela Yee, Q discussed an array of topics including the WorldStar film, 50 Cent lawsuit and Kat Stack’s tell-all. His in-depth conversation with The Breakfast Club also delved into his humble beginnings, WorldStar and how the site is being used as a vehicle for change, dropping out of high school and his love for getting his salad tossed (let him explain).

Here are 10 things we learned from Q’s chat with The Breakfast Club. Can’t say the tossed salad bit wasn’t a bit disturbing.

The Field: Miami

WorldStar recently screened its second installment of The Field. This time, the crew headed to Miami, FL to examine the streets of some of the most notorious neighborhoods including Little Haiti, Opa-locka and Carol City.

International

Q intends on taking the film aimed at covering life outside of pop culture’s South Beach to places like Haiti. He hopes to gain a wider audience in order to shed light on the growing violence plaguing inner-city ‘hoods, which is not being properly covered by “the powers that be.”

Keeping It Real

While many abhor the WorldStar site and its perpetual coverage of all things slanderous to people of color, Q explains that his job is to show the good, the bad and the ugly.

YouTube

WorldStarHipHop was born out of the inspiration that came from Q seeing YouTube sign a deal with Google, proof that the next big thing was video content.

Old Man

WorldStar’s head honcho is 40-years-old. Albeit he doesn’t look it. Black really doesn’t crack.

High School Dropout

Q dropped out of high school in ninth grade, wound up getting his GED instead, and only because his “old school Haitian” mom made him do it.

WSHH, The Movie

A WorldStarHipHop movie is in the works, which is being developed by Russell Simmons and scripted by How To Make It In America‘s Ian Edelman. It takes place in New York and chronicles the last hoorah of two good friends before one of them is “shipped off.”

Adult Swim

WorldStar landed a sweet deal with Adult Swim, a new home for all their upcoming films.

Tossed Salad

So… Q likes to get his salad tossed (like Charlamagne). By a woman, of course.

Kat Stacks

Her book is still being put out by Q, but she’s been cut from the team due to her alcoholism.
