Since catching his infamous federal gun charge in 2007, T.I. has become a changed man. Sure, he still endorses the trap, raps about guns, drugs, money, strippers and the liberties he takes with “your girl,” but there is something different about the Atlanta rapper.

Something that is hard to explain. By night, Mr. Harris seems to be a mild mannered MC who takes care of family and is one of the most prolific Southern MCs of the last decade. But, on some days, he seems to be a super hero of sorts, able to save lives, rescue distressed women and put an end to rap wars in a single bound. There are several instances over the past seven years Tip has been involved in that might make one ponder if he was actually in prison on those two occasions or at Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters.

Here are eight instances of the Kang using his super (star) powers for the betterment of mankind…

Helping Fight Crime (2008)

Super Hero Deed: Stopped Crime

Depending on what side of the fence you sit on, you probably think helping stop crimes from going on in your neighborhood is a good thing. Some people are funny like that, you know. As part of his plea deal for federal gun charges, in 2008, T.I. used his super human powers celebrity in a Crime Stoppers commercial. Despite the slander that ensued, Tip’s powers of persuasion helped rid the city of a large element of crime. (Okay, we made up that last part.)

Talking Down Suicide Jumper (2010)

Super Hero Deed: Life Saved

At one point or another, we’ve all had to talk a deranged man down from an office building ledge who is hell-bent on jumping to his death and splattering his physical frame into a puddle of afterbirth on the sidewalk for all the world to see, right? The Kang has. In 2010, Mr. Harris swooped in on a man who was minutes away from bungee cording off a 22-floor downtown Atlanta building, without the bungee. After a quick convo with T.I., the man decided he’d rather take the stairs.

Stopping Diddy/Shyne Part II At Club Compound (2011)

Super Hero Deed: Fade/Possible Shots Fired Intercepted

In October 2011, fresh off his second stint in prison, T.I. was kicking it in Atlanta’s Club Compound for one of Diddy’s parties during BET Awards weekend when his spidey senses detected a volatile situation about to take place. After witnessing Diddy telling a man to go f#ck his mother loudly downing a man for drinking something not named Ciroc, it was reportedly about to go down when the Zone 1 representer stepped in and defused the ensuing fade (or worse) that was about to be delivered.

Saving Creed Singer Scott Stapp’s Life Following Suicide Attempt (2012)

Super Hero Deed: Life Saved

In 2010, T.I. again used his uncanny ability to alter the mind state of people who are on the verge of shortening the Grim Reaper’s work day. This time, it was Creed’s Scott Stapp who claims Tip saved his life after “ironically” being in the right place at the right time and catching the singer post-suicide attempt. “I’m laying on the ledge, blood fell to [T.I.’s] feet…he really saved my life,” Stapp later said.

Helping Quell Rick Ross vs Jeezy Beef (2014)
Super Hero Deed: Conflict Resolved
Before they kissed and made up, the Rick Ross and Jeezy beef seemed to be pretty serious, with the rappers even reportedly coming close to throwing blows, at one point. All it took was one call from The King of the South, to get the rappers on one accord and back in the studio.

Saves Car Accident Victim (2014)

Super Hero Deed: Life Saved

In May, T.I. was on his way to pick up his cape from the cleaners Popeye’s in Los Angles when he just so happened to be Johnny-on-the-spot at a horrific car crash. The Grand Hustle head honcho reportedly leapt to the rescue of the victim in an overturned SUV, staying with the emotional woman until ambulances arrived. Upon which the woman presumably turned to thank him only to find that he had disappeared into the crowd.

Helping Apollo Nida with His Understanding of Law Processes (2014)

Super Hero Deed: Transferal of Knowledge

Earlier this month, reality show participant, and current police informant, Apollo Nida accused T.I. of being a snitch, comparing his plea deal to the Atlanta rapper’s legal situation. A short time later, Tip located Nida, and he, along with Killer Mike give the RHOA actor a free, quick and intense lesson on how the law works. Because knowing is half the battle. What a thoughtful guy.

Helped Quell Game vs Count of L.E.P. Bogus Boys Beef (2014)

Super Hero Deed: Conflict Resolved

Game’s name-dropping habit got the rapper in some hot water, recently, when Count of the L.E.P. Bogus Boys dissed Chuck after the Compton rapper tried to exaggerate his Chi-Town ties on the recent “LA to Chi-Raq (40 Glocc and Lil Durk Diss).” T.I. again stepped in to broker peace among the rival factions.
