More often than not, rap music and drugs go hand in hand. For one reason or another, marijuana in particular, seems to be the choice high for many of our favorite MCs.

While some use it to draw in a more creative influence for their music, others have used it as a means to bolster their success.

Wiz Khalifa, for instance, has built from the ground up a career made lucrative thanks to a solid fan base of cannabis enthusiasts.

That said, weed – for better or worse – has encouraged some of our most celebrated Hip-Hop artists. In honor of 4/20 (national weed-smoking day), peep our 21 most prolific weed smokers in the slideshow on the following pages. Weigh in on who you think we left out in the comments at the bottom.

Tical even starred in a stoner comedy where he essentially played himself – a weed connoisseur.

15) Devin the Dude

Devin the Dude hit the ganja for the first time at 13 and has been smoking every day since.

14) Young Dro

His favorite flavor of weed? Black Kush.

13) ScHoolboy Q

Although Q’s first experience was a terrible one (he threw up afterward), he loves being high every day.

12) Jadakiss

Kiss is known for traveling out to Amsterdam just to shop for the finest.

11) Curren$y

Having made a lifestyle out of it, Curren$y even has tips for healthy weed smoking (see CinematicTV Episode 7).

10) Bone Thugs ‘N’ Harmony

C’mon. These guys have dozens of songs dedicated to Mary Jane (i.e. Smoker’s Medley, Blaze It, Buddah Lovaz, The Weed Song, As We Roll, Sweet Jane, Bad Weed Blues etc., etc.)

Cypress Hill are well known for their affection for marijuana.

7) Styles P

Styles has a serious love affair with cannabis. He’s still waiting on his High Times cover.

6) Afroman

Why? Because he got high.

5) Redman

Redman also starred in the stoner comedy “How High” alongside his ace, Method Man. Unlike his colleague, Styles P, Red’s been featured on High Times for embracing the weed.

4) Lil’ Wayne

In the November 2011 issue of “GQ” Magazine, Wayne details his love for weed and how he couldn’t wait to get off probation just to start toking it again.

2) Snoop Dogg

In his AMA chat on Reddit circa 2012, Snoop admitted to smoking some 81 blunts – daily.

1) Chief Keef

Weeks after completing a court-ordered stint (for repeatedly failing random drug testings and being a reckless driver), the rapper posted a blazed up selfie. “Let’s smoke a joint!” read the caption. Chief Keef learned tons in rehab.
