While most rappers profess to be strategical in their every move, a lot of them still end up doing a lot of dumb ish. Some of their actions are so idiotic they fall into the April Fools’ category.
Whether its drugs, poor judgement, weed carriers not being a friend or a classic case of believing their own hype, Hip-Hop should be taken to task for some of their most ill-conceived moments.
Over the years some incidents have stood out more than others creating a feeling of infamy when they are mentioned. With April Fools’ Day upon us, we look back, with stern a side eye, at these times where rappers have failed us.
So we present Hip-Hop’s most foolish moves of all time. Let us know which shamed you the most in the comments section.

Donnie G: Don Gorilla
We still shake our heads at this awful album cover by Sheek Louch. Sure he’s got gorilla bars, but the half thug half ape thing was not the move.
12 Hours
G-Unit even had Eminem wearing a “Free Yayo” t-shirt in anticipation for Tony Yayo’s release. The “So Seductive” rapper finally comes home only to be arrested again in 12 hours for having a fraudulent passport. SMH.
Accidental Racist
We’ll chalk it up to a bad judgement call on behalf of LL Cool J for his part in this very awkward country collaboration.
The Notepad
Canibus pulled out a notepad out in a Rap battle. That is all.
The Speedo
What man oils himself up, puts on a speedo to match his Ducati and straddles it for a birthday photo? Wyclef does. We still feel in a serious ways about all these creepy elements in this flick.
Killa Doesn’t Tell
Serial killers nationwide all rejoiced when they heard Cam’ron wouldn’t call the police on them.
Imma Let You Finish
Beyonce didn’t even cosign that jack move Yeezy.
The Unwanted Guest
Lil Mamma earned her stripes as a struggle rapper at this very moment.
Emmett
Disgraceful is all we can call Lil’ Wayne for referencing the legacy of Emmett Till in the “Karate Chop” remix.
Again?
We’re could care less about his sexual preference but why didn’t Mister Cee just get a hotel room?
Confused
Young Buck should have known better than to get emotional with 50 Cent on a phone. Buck never really recovered from this and we are not surprised.
He’s Not Gay
Lil B named his album I’m Gay but asserted that he is heterosexual. Publicity stunt anyone?
Officer Ricky
Ross portrayed himself as kingpin but it was rumored he was correctional officer in the past. He went on to deny these allegations for almost a year and this photo surfaced. Now we are sure he does not in fact know Noreaga, the real Noreaga.
Boy Band Collabs
M.O.P. doing a song with boy band L.F.O. is very much blasphemous to even think about.
Brother Malcolm
Nicki had some nerve to use Malcolm X’s likeness on the cover of her song “Lookin Ass N*gga”. Her explanation was just as disrespectful.
