Black Twitter Checks Pharrell’s G I R L Cover For Lack Of Black Women [PHOTOS]

Black Twitter formed like Voltron once more and unleashed some of that good old slander on Pharrell Williams today over the album cover for his latest project, G I R L. The cover features Skateboard P with three women of fairer skin, which prompted some angry responses and funny memes on the social media network.

Pharrell has been riding the wave of a very productive 2013 and his smash single, “Happy,” which isn’t going anywhere any time soon. However, the reveal of his LP cover and tracklisting has caused some of Black Twitter’s most vocal proponents to lash out at the lack of diversity in the women in the cover picture.

Some users have retorted against the criticism with facts that the Neptunes producer has definitely repped the darker hues in his past work, complete with screen grabs and all.
