Those who are anything like us were elated with they saw the list of the 2014 NBA Slam Dunk Contest participants. For one, it’s the most star-studded in years and it also has the most talent.

Many will say that the Slam Dunk Contest has been lackluster in recent years. We wouldn’t disagree, but there have been some gems among the fluff. Perhaps you don’t believe us or your memory is spotty. Fortunately, the Internets contain a bevy of videos that back our claims.

Some you’ll recognize the moment you press play, while others might have flown under the radar. Each dunk are pretty dope, though. Take a walk down memory lane in a gallery of the top 10 most underrated NBA Slam Dunk Contests dunks after the jump.

10. Rudy Fernandez (2009)

How the Spaniard only got a 42 for this dunk, we’ll never know.

9. DeMar DeRozen (2011)

The Compton native’s dunk rattled the house. We thought we he was a shoe-in.

8. Desmond Mason (2003)

“That is a top 10 dunk of all time,” said commentator Kenny Smith. We won’t go that far, but the former Seattle Supersonics (remember them) guard delivered on this on.

7. Andre Igoudala (2006)

Who knew the former Philadelphia 76ers forward was a contortionist too? Needless to say that it would have been a lot of slow singing and flower bringing had something gone awry with this dunk.

6. Jason Richardson (2004)

Off the glass and under the legs was dunk combination only seen in video games until J. Rich landed this in 2004.

5. Fred Jones (2004)

Our fondest memory of Jones involves a massive skirmish at The Palace of Auburn Hills, but this was ill too.

4. Nate Robinson (2006)

The Bay Area guard’s height alone grants him a spot on this list. Don’t question us.

3. Dwight Howard (2008)

How long must one be in the air before they tap the ball off the backboard before they dunk? See the answer in the video above.

2. Jason Richardson (2002)

Yes, J. Rich made the list twice. But why not? He owned the dunk contest for a bit post-Vince Carter.

1. Jason Richardson (2003)

No, this isn’t bias folks. This dunk was just that damn good.
