Players mess (insert a proper expletive replacement) up too, and that goes for some of your favorite rappers as well. Even the top MCs have their missteps, as it refers to dropping a bad single or two.
That said, we’ve listed 10 pop song fails by your favorite wordsmiths. Some of the tracks mentioned were swept under the rug, while others remain a point of ridicule for Hip-Hop fans near and far.
Of course, some artists’ ill fated decisions were birthed from a creative place, rather than a capitalist mind. That’s appreciated, but even an earnest effort can birth deplorable tunes.
Find songs that fit the bill on the following pages, and be sure to give us more selections in the comments section.

Snoop Dogg ft. Willie Nelson – “My Medicine”
Snoop loves weed. Nelson loves weed. Seems like a match made in heaven, right? Well, maybe this would have ended up better had the two artist met in the middle. Instead, Snoop went to the far end of the country spectrum.
Ludacris ft. David Guetta & Usher – “Rest Of My Life”
Luda, you made Back For The First Time, bruh.
Mobb Deep ft. 112 – “Hey Luv (Anything)”
Ask anyone old enough to remember 2001 vividly about this track. Bottom dollar says nothing but slander would come back.
Wale ft. Lady Gaga – “Chillin'”
Many counted the Washington D.C. wordsmith out after the various missteps surrounding his debut album, Attention Deficit. The downward spiral began with this track featuring The Fame Monster.
Flo Rida – Wild Ones (The Entire Album)
We’re all for purposeful music. That’s fine. But this is an LP only meant from Thursday night through Saturday night… for women. And this is far from anything LL Cool J (more on him later) in his lady-pleasing prime dropped.
Lil Wayne ft. Nicki Minaj – “Prom Queen”
If we’re talking Weezy, there’s no country for pretty much anything he’s created in the past few years. Rebirth, or better yet this tune by Tunechi, is the worst of the crop. However, the rapper managed to make people believe it was dope, so there’s that.
Diddy (P. Diddy) – “P.E. 2000”
You’d think that this track would have done much better, considering that we saw quintessential Diddy in the visual. He danced. He sported an icy white mink. However, that wasn’t a enough to make this track hot.
Jay Z – “Sunshine”
According to Hov, this track is the reason In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 isn’t a true classic. That should tell you something.
Nicki Minaj – “Starships”
YMCMB’s first lady scored big with this track in different demographics, but Hip-Hop fans weren’t too pleased with her pop aspirations.
LL Cool J ft. Brad Paisley – “Accidental Racist”
We can’t begin to understand who deemed this worthy to leave the studio.
