Hot 97 & Miss Info ran the show on the red carpet for yesterday’s inaugural YouTube Music Awards event. To be expected, there were a lot of unfiltered, unscripted moments.
New-aged outcasts, Odd Future have made recent headlines with their Ghost of the Hotel short clip but it was frontman, Tyler, the Creator’s recent Twitter barrage towards will.i.am that really sent shock waves throughout the ‘Net.
Miss Info immediately dug in for an update on the altercation [Ed. Note: a quick glance at will.i.am’s Twitter account suggests he blew off the entire incident.] and Tyler simply treated it like a rant of a passion. “I don’t have any beef with him, or anything,” the rapper explained. “He just said I wouldn’t be making films in ten years and I’m like: ‘How could you even saw that when I just made one the greatest movies of all-time, The Ghost of the Hotel.'”
It’s a given when you’re dealing with Tyler, the Creator, you’re going to get a passionate, yet playful response and he didn’t seem to be taking the elephant in the room seriously, specifically going out of his way to namedrop The Ghost of the Hotel in the interview.
Elsewhere, Seattle-based duo, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (eventual recipients of the Breakthrough of the Year award) discussed their favorite pastimes on YouTube which included reliving classic rap videos.
