The former Different World star chatted with us about life lessons he took away while playing his favorite video games.

If you haven’t gotten your hands on David Cage‘s Beyond: Two Souls yet, shame on you, sincerely. The game finds Quantic Dream merging Hollywood with the gaming industry, as Ellen Page, Willem Dafoe and Kadeem Hardison star in this interactive action-adventure title.

Hardison, a professed video game addict, is enjoying the successful acclaim critics are offering the title.

Here, he took some time out to chat with Hip-Hop Wired about the 10 Lessons He Learned From Video Games.

The first one is a simple one that all beings should know. See below:

Beyond: Two Souls

“It taught me to embrace the choices that I’ve made, instead of second guessing them.”

Batman: Arkham Asylum

“This one taught me that you can’t be anyone, but if you can be Batman — be Batman.”

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

“I learned from Monkey and Trip that you don’t always have to go it alone. Two heads are better than one.”

Mirror’s Edge

“This game taught me that a good pair of kicks can take you a long way.”

Dead Space

“This was a game that taught me to listen, listen, LISTEN!”

The Grand Theft Auto Series

“I learned that life without a soundtrack…is no way to live.”

Limbo

“The lesson was simple: humans should avoid bear traps…at all costs.”

Gears of War 2

“This game taught me that I’d be nowhere without my friends. #HordeMode.”

Journey

“This game reaffirmed what I already knew, but tend to forget sometimes—less is more.”

Heavy Rain

“This game taught me that you’ve got to always think twice about those folks who seem like they’ve got the least to lose.”
