It’s been a long road for Irv Gotti and Ja Rule. The Murder Inc. Records front men saw a historic rise to fame in the early 2000’s only to see it come to a screeching halt when their biggest enemy, 50 Cent, was took over the charts. Now that Ja is fresh out of jail, the “Holla” rapper and his CEO Irv Gotti are ready to paint New York City red and one of their first stops was an interview with The Breakfast Club at Power 105 FM for a very memorable appearance.

In an hour long interview, Ja and Irv were like open books as they discussed a variety of topics including Gotti’s alleged affair with Ashanti, their ecstasy escapades, the FBI raid, almost signing Nas, the antics of Superhead and more.

While Irv Gotti doesn’t outright admit he had romantic dealings with Ashanti, he did admit the Princess left him cold when the feds came knocking when they charged him for money laundering.

The Murder Inc. super group consisting of Ja Rule, DMX and Jay Z fell apart due to egos. At one point Gotti couldn’t even get Jay Z and DMX in the same room. Another attempt was tried later on when Ja Rule got hotter but at that point the damage was done.

At the height of the Murder Inc. and G-Unit beef, Ja Rule admitted that Jadakiss was hesitant on hopping on the “New York” in fear of 50 Cent cock blocking him since they were both signed to Interscope Records at that time.

Since Irv couldn’t get Ja Rule, DMX and Jay Z to play nice enough to the Murder Inc. group project, he saw an opportunity to make history by signing Nas post “Ether”. Gotti admits that attempt was one of his biggest regrets as it damaged his relationship with Jay Z for many years.

Both Gotti and Rule were heavy into ecstasy as we all expected. Aside from a couple of minor trips, they both seemingly enjoyed their pill popping days even though Irv got arrested in Oakland for drug posession. At his Prime Ja used to wake up to a bottle of Cristal Champagne everyday too. #Living.

Speaking of ecstasy, Irv Gotti admitted to being high out of his mind when he gave L Magazine that ill fated interview saying “Lopez can’t make a record like Whitney [Houston] or Mariah [Carey] cause she ain’t got a big voice,” adding “So she’s gotta f— with guys like me who can hide or enhance that voice.”

Ja Rule was about to get his own label MPire Records and Irv Gotti was scheduled to be his first artist. Yes Irv was going to get his Diddy on and rap. Thankfully then Def Jam president Lyor Cohen blocked the move. Just in case your curious in hearing what that would have sounded like here is a tune that Gotti did with Toni Braxton back in the day.

Both Gotti and Ja felt admitted guilt in dealing with Hip-Hop harlot Kerrine “Superhead” Steffans but downplayed some of the the slander about them that was written in her salacious book Confessions of a Video Vixen.

Irv cleared up the disconnect why he hasn’t gotten a shot at the Def Jam Records presidency. While he is clearly overqualified for the role, he points to getting the Def Jam Records offices raided by the FBI in 2003 while under investigation for money laundering as the reason Universal Music Group big wigs won’t give him a shot.

Chris Lighty and Irv Gotti were super close friends until the Murder Inc. and G-Unit beef popped off. Gotti admitted that Chris chose sides accordingly and stopped speaking to him. Thankfully a couple of months before his passing, Lighty saw Gotti at a restaurant let him know the tension wasn’t that serious between them.
