In the Early 2000s, the battle for New York rap supremacy was at its heights. Jay Z and Nas were both vying for the top spot, and Hov threw the first punch. Nas responded in kind with the “Stillmatic” freestyle and all hell broke out later. Jay’s “The Takeover” had him taking shots at Nas and Mobb Deep, with the QB vet swinging back with “Ether.” The beef died down later and the pair actually worked together on several tracks since.
